The Greenwood County Main Library held a brief Topping-Out Ceremony Tuesday, October 20, 2009 and invited local officials to sign the last beam to be placed in the new library’s rotunda. Greenwood County and City Council members joined the Library Board, Library Foundation, and Library Staff members at the construction site. The Craig Gaulden Davis designed building’s projected completion date is June 2010 and is expected to be LEED certified.
Craig Gaulden Davis mixed things up this year in their fundraising efforts for United Way. The staff was challenged to a Bake Sale Competition as a “fun”-raising effort. Split into three groups each team had two days to sell their hearts out. The sales spanned the month of October and were a huge success. “We raised three times my anticipated goal”, says Dee-Ann Lack, CGD’s Campaign Coordinator “and had a great time doing it.”
Craig Gaulden Davis has been retained by Clemson University to examine the feasibility for reconfiguration and renovations to Seasons Restaurant, a full service restaurant and bar associated with the Madren Center, the University’s home to continuing education and special events. The study will explore options for the reconfiguration of the primary entrance, buffet serving lines, location of the bar for better access and service and new interior design for all components.
