CGD’s summer interns set up an office in our storage vault as they sort 58 years of documents. As architectural drawings are now digitized, we honor our founders and the archival process of preserving hand drawings for future study through our donation to the Clemson University Library. Matthew Krider is a rising junior studying architecture at Clemson, and Alex Jones completed his sophomore year in the architecture program at Greenville’s Fine Arts Center. Not only have they worked extremely diligently on this task, but they have also entertained us with their archival discoveries labeled “Drawing of the Day.”
On July 1, 2015, we celebrate 58 years and honor our visionary founders. As Independence Day approaches, we also honor their military service as first lieutenants in the Korean War, the late Kirk Craig in the Corps of Engineers and Earle Gaulden in the Infantry.
