Mosaic Church Plans for Ministry
Charrette Process Will Offer a Strategy for Use of Warehouse

Later this month, Mosaic United Methodist Church will spend a day envisioning its future. The young congregation in a fast-growing suburb of Augusta, Georgia, has spent most of the past five years focused on sharing and living out the Gospel in the community, but will be working with Craig Gaulden Davis to think about how best use the building it now inhabits to strengthen that ministry.

Mosaic occupies part of a warehouse, but now has the opportunity to purchase the entire structure. In a compact process called a "Charrette", CGD will help the congregation articulate their vision and identify strategies for incorporating the building into it. Architects will meet with the congregation Sunday morning; work on solutions in the afternoon and report to the congregation that evening.

According to founding Pastor Carolyn Moore, the warehouse's loading dock is an important symbol. "We're constantly taking in and sending out. We don't want to turn this into a conventional church with spires. It's not who we are."

Mosaic Church is located on Columbia Industrial Boulevard in Evans, Georgia.
