CGD Speaks at National Conference
Two from CGD Presenting at PLA Conference
Architects David Moore and David Dixon will be speaking in Portland, Oregon at the Public Library Association's (PLA) National Conference in March. Using the case study of CGD's Augusta Library, which is currently under construction, they will present, "Not in our community! We Don't Want Our Modern, State of the Art Library to Look Modern." The talk will explore the tension between the desire for a modern library and the sometimes controversial desire for period architecture that recalls the past and appeals to a nostalgic sense of beauty.
