Scott E Powell, AIA, LEED AP
Vice President and Secretary
We don’t just design schools – we understand the kinds of issues that school boards face. We work together to identify solutions and create places that will inspire children to learn.
With a wife and a sister who both teach school, and two school-aged boys, Scott Powell is in tune with schools, school boards and school design. His focus on education extends to serving on the board of the Urban League of the Upstate, presiding over an award-winning PTA, and coaching youngsters in a church basketball league.
Scott thrives on the programming stage of design: the intensive process of figuring out how the building is going to work, how people will use it, how it will flow from space to space. Scott uses his expertise to anticipate problems, guide decisions and mediate disputes. The result is much more than just a school building. It’s an innovative, functional space that engages students – opening their eyes, stimulating their minds and, literally, changing lives.
