Principal

Architecture is a dialogue.  We listen to our clients, the context of the building, and the constraints and opportunities the program presents.  Then we draw until the building speaks for itself.

Since joining Craig Gaulden Davis in 1987, Scott Simmons has played a key role in the design of libraries, churches and cultural buildings, as well as a range of beautiful, functional residences.

Scott approaches architecture from a physical perspective, with a deep understanding of materials, requirements, codes and specifications. He views these details not as mere structural technicalities, but as instruments that can help add richness and meaning to people’s lives and activities.

A self-described puzzle fanatic, Scott finds architecture to be an opportunity to design both the parts and the solution. This perspective often leads him to discover a different solution, an innovative answer that serves the client in unexpected ways.
