Anderson Career and Technology Center Addition Under Construction

By | News | No Comments

The Anderson Districts I & II Career and Technology Center commissioned Craig Gaulden Davis to design an addition onto the front of their building to give the Center a more modern look and highlight their Project Lead the Way program.  The new addition, clad in curtain wall, will provide new administration space to allow the staff to work more efficiently and spotlight their traditional Graphic Arts program as well as PLTW.

The Anderson CTC was one of just ten PLTW schools chosen as a model school for its innovative approach to engaging students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).  The PLTW labs are located near the front door of the school so visitors can view the inventive program and dispel the old stigma of vocational education.

SERC consists of 26 representatives from 13 chapters located in 9 southeast States, and is responsible for facilitating collaboration and strengthening partnerships between USGBC chapters. It creates valuable tools to help chapters advance their missions. Annually it hosts the “GEAR UP” Leadership Summit which provides inspiring training to Chapter leaders and volunteers on a variety of topics including strategic planning, leadership fundamentals, fund development, and growth management.

The new computer lab, part of the phase two renovations and additions.

After a hectic summer of complex renovations, the Athens Clarke County Public Library opens its first two phases to the public last week. CGD’s Stuart Stenger, AIA, LEED AP has tirelessly guided the construction phase activities and is very excited that the public will now use the newly added portions of the building and several renovated sections while construction activities move into the final phase, due to be complete by the early part of 2013. Phase 3 includes the renovation of several sections of the interior that supported ongoing operations during the first two phases of work. CGD’s Andrea Kuhfuss, IIDA has been working closely with library and county officials to oversee the installation of interior furnishings and equipment.
