The need to position the new 1000 student school and related athletic facilities to the front of the site due to the presence of wetlands and steep grades to the rear of the site was fundamental in the development of CGD’s design.
A very compact floor plan that resulted in a square circulation layout with a partial basement was used to solve the unique site issues. The steep grade in the courtyard was addressed with the design of an outside dining area with steps and a sloped embankment, making the space an amphitheater.
