Powell to Help Coordinate Design Advocacy

August 1, 2011No Comments

Scott Powell has been asked to serve in a leadership position on the State Government Network (SGN), a national committee of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

The SGN was established in 1991 to give state components of the AIA resources and materials necessary to advocate effectively on the state government level.  It is comprised of component presidents, legislative affairs chairs, contract lobbyists and members who have an interest in government advocacy.

Powell has appeared before the South Carolina legislature as an advocate of excellence in school design and in opposition to the use of prototype plans for public schools.
