Craig Gaulden Davis, in association with LS3P Associates of Charlotte, received an Honor Award at the Design with Brick 2006 awards presentation, held during the AIA South Carolina Spring Meeting Awards Celebration in Columbia. CGD was one of six architectural design teams recognized for exceptional skill and creativity in designing with brick. The biennial competition was hosted by Brick SouthEast.
The team won the Honor Award for the Spring Street Parking Garage in Greenville. The seven-story structure adds 912 much-needed off-street parking spaces without disrupting the flavor and scale of downtown Greenville. Originally designed to fill an entire city block, the structure maximizes the efficiency of the site by reserving 40 feet from the street sides for future development of streetscapes and mixed-used development.
