Craig Gaulden Davis has been a trusted partner to the Columbia County Library system for over 2 decades. After designing the main headquarters library that included a small performing arts venue in Evans, GA, the County engaged CGD to design two new branch libraries to serve growing populations in Harlem and Grovetown in recent years.

Completed immediately prior to the COVID shutdowns, the Grovetown Branch Library recently opened to the public. The 15,000 square foot facility is sited immediately adjacent to City Hall and shares parking and public green space. The stately facade is constructed of brick, stone and stucco and features multiple large windows to allow natural light into the interior. The two story lobby welcomes patrons into the library and to a large second floor community room.

Utilizing bright and airy interior colors and furnishings, the library provides a balance of traditional materials and technological resources. A separate Teens room provides a welcoming, safe, and friendly environment while establishing an identity that is separate from adults and children. The central information desk provides excellent access to patrons and visual surveillance of the entire library.
