In our May e-newsletter, we featured Andrea Kuhfuss, the director of CGD’s interior design department, and asked readers to vote on their favorite interiors project. The People’s Choice Award goes to Porter Memorial Branch Library in Covington, Georgia. Additionally, in a local newspaper survey, readers voted the library as having the best meeting facilities in Rockdale and Newton counties. It is not surprising that the interior design is popular. In addition to natural lighting and the use of stone, the wood ceiling adds warmth to the space. The custom bookshelf end panels feature abstract trees reflective of the wooded site.
This project contains many wayfinding architectural principles.
