Creating an urban location for a national drugstore chain has been accomplished in cities across the country, but creating an urban drive-through location was a first for CVS and CGD. The result for CVS on Main Street in Greenville is a striking design with extensive brick detailing, large glass façades and three bas-relief brick sculptures to engage pedestrians, a requirement of the city’s design guidelines. The efficient drive-through component created an additional retail space on the corner of the two access streets. A second floor was added to the design to further meet guidelines for scale as well as create additional tenant space for this prominent downtown location.
