Fort Mill Schools Administrative and Training Center

LOCATION:

Fort Mill, SC

As one of South Carolina’s fastest-growing school districts, Fort Mill Schools faced increasing demands for administrative space and professional development facilities. With the district office at capacity and Special Services staff dispersed across multiple locations, the district acquired a neighboring facility and partnered with Craig Gaulden Davis | PBK to transform the existing building into a centralized administrative and training center.

Originally constructed as a manufacturing facility, the pre-engineered building features a masonry veneer designed to complement the adjacent district office. The renovation repurposed the existing structure to support the district’s evolving operational needs while maximizing the value of the existing building.

The project includes the creation of a new dedicated entrance leading to a flexible conference center that accommodates up to 150 participants and can be subdivided into three large training and meeting rooms. Existing office areas and the second floor were expanded to house Special Services staff, along with secure storage for student records, special education curriculum materials, and physical and occupational therapy resources. The remaining building area was adapted to provide much-needed district storage, creating a comprehensive facility that supports administrative operations, staff development, and student services.
