In May 2023, the close community of Jasper, Georgia celebrated an extensive renovation and expansion of the Pickens County Branch Library that will serve the needs of its growing population for many years. Within the Sequoyah Regional Library System, the project consisted of a renovation of the existing traditional brick building to include a large work room, flex space, teen area, and new administrative area. The new expansion portion utilizes brick elements to visually tie into the original library and features a “saw tooth” north facade that provides framed views of the landscape buffer along the north property line. This new area allows for a larger adult reading collection as well as new study rooms and a redesigned Georgia Room for special collections.
