The statue was sculpted by Zan Wells and depicts, in her words, “Virginia inspiring us all to enjoy participation in the arts.” The first words of Virginia’s favorite aria, “Vissi d’Arte” from Puccini’s opera Tosca succinctly tells us who Virginia is: “I lived for art.” CGD provided fundraising presentation images and led the design of the statue base, site plan, and lighting.
