The City of Gaffney, SC commissioned CGD to renovate the former United States Post Office in downtown Gaffney into a new Visitors Center and Art Museum. The project includes new office and meeting space for the Visitors Center, an exhibition area for local history, an art gallery, and working artist studios. Various measures were taken to retain the character of the original, nearly 100 year-old structure. The facade was restored, and original terrazzo flooring and historic groin vaults were reclaimed.
