These honors reflect not only design excellence and professional leadership, but also a shared commitment to service—serving our profession, our communities, and the people who experience the places we help create.

Among the evening’s recognitions was the Board Service Award, presented to Sophia Delgado for her leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to strengthening AIA Greenville. Sophia’s service exemplifies the value of giving back to the profession through active engagement and advocacy. Her efforts have helped elevate the voice of architecture within the local community while fostering collaboration and mentorship among peers. This award recognizes the time, care, and leadership required to support a strong professional community, and we are grateful for the impact of her continued service.

The ceremony also honored Ali McClure, AIA, with the Young Architect Award, recognizing her influence as an emerging leader in the profession. Ali’s work advances thoughtful, people-centered design while championing community service, mentorship, and advocacy. Through her research and practice, she has contributed meaningfully to the future of K–12 learning environments—aligning design with educational outcomes and community needs. This recognition celebrates not only her professional accomplishments, but also her commitment to shaping environments that serve students, educators, and communities with intention and care.

Ali McClure receives the Young Architect Award

In addition to individual honors, Ebenezer Park received an AIA Greenville Merit Award, acknowledging excellence in architectural design and community impact. The jury commended the project for its strong overall site plan and thoughtful architectural composition, noting how structures, landscape, and public space come together to create a cohesive and welcoming civic environment. The project demonstrates how clear planning and durable, high-quality materials can support long-term community use while remaining cost-conscious.

Particular recognition was given to the stage pavilion, which the jury highlighted as an elegant and well-executed focal point within the park. In totality, Ebenezer Park reflects a careful balance of program, place, and public interest—contributing meaningfully to its community through clarity of design and intentional integration of architecture and landscape. The Merit Award is a prestigious recognition within the AIA awards hierarchy, signifying a high standard of quality and community impact.

Together, these honors represent the many ways service takes shape in our work—through leadership within the profession, mentorship of emerging voices, and the creation of spaces that enrich communities.
