Craig Gaulden Davis designed an elegant renovation of the historic Hayne School building in the Pettigru District of Downtown Greenville; it will house the headquarters of Foster Victor Wealth Advisors. The circa 1920 structure will maintain its historic façade and celebrate the character of the original building with open interiors, refinished hardwood floors, large historic windows, and exposed brick walls. The new addition takes shape with a dark brick veneer feature wall that creates a ‘face’ for three terraces at the rear; each wall opening frames views of the tree canopy beyond. The added contemporary structure pays homage to the historic building and meets the client goals for attracting and retaining workforce talent in a highly competitive field. The finished product will boast an upper level indoor/outdoor kitchen and breakroom featuring Nanawalls that open to an exterior covered terrace.
The building, at 10 Toy Street, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Construction will be complete in Summer 2020.
