The design team developed a Master Plan providing comprehensive guidance for school growth over the next 50 years. With the purchase of a 22-acre parcel adjacent to the school, the plan re-oriented the front of the school toward to the new parcel. The proposed architectural additions include a gymnasium, field house, natatorium, dance and aerobic studio, an academic addition and a chapel. Site improvements include athletic fields for football, lacrosse, soccer, baseball and softball; a stadium, running track, entrance plaza and parking.
The first building expansion project consists of a new performance gymnasium, classrooms, fitness center, training facility and lockers, as well as a new landscaped entrance plaza and parking for after-hours athletic events. This first project sets the precedent for an updated architectural image using transparency, metal panel and organic lines to augment the 1960’s red brick box and expressing 21st century learning space rooted in a foundation of faith.
The two-story academic building provides a new main entrance for the school, studios for sculpture, drawing and painting, technology labs and general classrooms as well as office space for school administration. The new architectural image is applied to the new school entrance.
A four-phased master plan for the performing arts center, engineering wing and counselling suite was provided. The first phase project was the Performing Arts Center renovation. The project was a complete demolition of the existing auditorium and installation of 1,300 new theater seats, acoustic finishes, sound system, house and theater lighting, new mechanical and life-safety systems. A new exterior entrance, lobby and graphics were also provided.
