In 2021, Furman University’s Board of Trustees approved their broadest-ever renovation project to date, one that is modernizing third- and fourth-year students’ independent living experience. With a goal of preparing students for lives of leadership and purpose, the comprehensive renovation of North Village apartments and pavilion includes upgrades to safety, accessibility, sustainability, interior design and exterior aesthetics.
Divided into 9 phases between Fall 2022 and Summer 2025, the renovation program will introduce new flooring, lighting, furniture, appliances and more natural light. Structural changes to the apartments include converting shared bedrooms to private bedrooms and enclosing balconies and patios into glass-enclosed sunrooms. Construction began in August 2022 on Apartment D and completed in May 2023. (Photos depicted Apartment D).
