In early 2010, Legacy Charter Early College purchased the Parker High School campus. The original school opened in 1923 but had been shuttered from 2003 until its purchase. The former high school now houses an innovative curriculum for under-served middle and high school students. CGD completed a campus-wide feasibility study that laid out a phased, comprehensive renovation of the facilities. Between 2010 and 2017, renovations were completed to the entrance, gymnasium, fitness center, dining hall with teaching kitchen, media center, and auditorium.

Legacy Charter Early College is a publicly funded program open to any student in Greenville County but the school’s mission is to educate children who are typically one to two grade levels behind. Through an extended school day and an extended school year, the school’s goal is, not only, to bring the students up to their grade level but for each student to graduate with transferable college credit.
