The renovation of Palmetto High School relocated all of the Adminstrative Offices & Health Suite to the front of the building increasing security with a new secure vestibule at the front entrance.
The spaces that were vacated by admin. offices were renovated into two new classrooms and one Special Education classroom with changing room, ADA toilet, and washer & dryer room.
A 2,867 sf arts room was added to the front of the building located near other related arts classrooms.
Renovations included:
- New group toilets and a gender-neutral single-use toilet room was updated with finishes & ADA accessibility.
Converting existing spaces into an AG shop with welding, shop equipment, compressed air and electrical ceiling reels and a separate AG classroom.
Fluorescent Light fixtures replaced with 2×4 LEDs.
Replaced existing acoustical ceiling panels with new acoustical ceiling panels and paint existing ceiling grid.
Replace all laboratory counter tops and sinks in science classrooms.
Replace doors in the Gymnasium & Auditorium to provide ADA accessibility.
Install new acoustical wall in the Band Room.
Install exterior fencing and gates to make campus secure from intruders.
Replace existing glass block wall with more energy efficient storefront windows.
Replace existing storefront doors.
