Florence Little Theatre
Florence, South Carolina

The Florence Little Theatre includes nearly 400 seats, incorporating side galleries that provide a kind of box seating, along with a new rehearsal room and scene shop. The budget was leveraged by the renovation of an adjacent medical office building for use as dressing rooms, storage and offices.
- The exterior of tan brick and limestone-colored masonry recalls one of Florence’s most cherished buildings
- Textured masonry and polished concrete floors are warmed by stained wood and scarlet fabric accents. The easy-to-maintain materials were chosen to help minimize long-term operating costs
- The intersection of new construction and the renovated back-of-house structure resulted in a courtyard that is used for social functions and provides additional rentable space for the Theatre
